  • Download the CALP Brochure, an information flyer on our current research.
  • Download Dr. Stephen Sheppard’s 1 page bio for climate change research.
  • View a short PowerPoint presentation (10 MB) which helps explain the potential of visioning tools to enhance existing community outreach and decision-making processes, and to motivate engagement and support for climate change/energy initiatives.  Tangible images like these are in quite high demand from community leaders.
  • Read the May 2010 issue of UBC In Your Community which highlights CALP’s research on adapting to climate change (Delta project).
  • Information on the Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability (CIRS) and the BC Hydro Theatre:  A new Decision Theatre for visualisation, participatory mapping, and community capacity-building on visioning methods was officially opened at the beginning of November 2011.  The Decision Theatre is part of the new super green building and UBC Sustainability Initiative called CIRS.   “Interactive” refers both to interactive media and two-way participation with the public/stakeholders.  The Decision Theatre is intended in part to enable people to “walk into the future” with immersive screens, touch-tables, etc., to test out new methods and multiple existing platforms (some GoogleEarth-based) for developing more sustainable pathways and communities.  Download a 2 page brief or the full Media Kit pdf). For CIRS building tours or more information, please contact the UBC Sustainability Initiative (USI).
