Zhaohua has been heavily involved with multiple projects in climate change future scenarios, forest carbon sequestration, carbon trading system, low carbon economy, and climate change education and engagement. She has recently received her Master’s degree in Forestry, where she conducted a cross-sectional survey exploring the public’s perceptions of climate change and low carbon economies in smaller cities in China. As a program coordinator of the Urban Forestry program and a research analyst at Collaborative for Advanced Landscape Planning, she is also interested in exploring various benefits and costs of urban forests, and using innovative approaches (e.g. interactive visualizations) to inform and engage local communities in urban forestry management and climate change mitigation.
